Apple is bringing AI deeper into everyday productivity. The company is adding an intelligent assistant to Pages, Keynote, and Numbers, giving users a hands-on helper for writing, presenting, and working with data.
In Keynote, the assistant can understand the context of a presentation and help with tasks like designing slides, refining layouts, and creating animations. In Pages, it can draft, restructure, and polish written content, making it easier to move from blank page to finished document.
Smarter spreadsheets and more flexible workflows
For Numbers, Apple says the assistant can calculate, visualize, and organize data, including suggesting chart types and building custom tables. That could make spreadsheet work more approachable for users who need insights without wrestling with formulas or formatting.
The update also adds support for the Model Context Protocol on macOS 27 or later, allowing third-party AI agents to connect with Apple’s productivity apps. This opens the door to more flexible AI-powered workflows across documents, presentations, and spreadsheets.
