Chrome adds 'Skills' to save and repeat Gemini prompts
Google is rolling out a new workflow feature in Chrome that lets users save any Gemini AI prompt as a reusable “Skill.” Once saved, a Skill can be run across any tabs you select in the desktop browser, so you don’t have to re-enter the same instructions on each page.
Chrome product manager Hafsah Ismail explained the motivation: repeating AI tasks previously meant retyping the same prompt on different sites. With Skills, a single saved prompt — for example, asking for vegan ingredient substitutions or summarizing multiple product pages — can be applied instantly across tabs, turning a multi-step chore into a one-click operation.
