Google is giving students a more focused way to use Gemini with a new dedicated student hub. The feature brings together common academic tasks—collecting research, organizing study notes, generating flashcards, and taking practice quizzes—into a single AI-powered workspace.
The update could be especially helpful during back-to-school season, when students are juggling syllabi, assignments, exams, and long-term projects. Gemini will also be able to turn syllabus information into calendar reminders, helping learners stay on top of test dates and deadlines.
AI as a study companion
Google is also improving study notebooks with support for graphs and images, making them more useful for visual subjects and research-heavy assignments. By combining text, visuals, quizzes, and scheduling, Gemini is becoming a more practical everyday tool for learning.
Another notable upgrade: Deep Research is being added to Gemini Live, allowing students to generate more complex research reports and then discuss the findings conversationally. That could make it easier to understand dense topics, refine ideas, and prepare for class discussions or projects.
