Google makes personalized Gemini available to all US personal accounts
Google announced that its Personal Intelligence capability for Gemini is now available to every personal Google account in the US. Previously limited to paid AI Pro and AI Ultra subscribers, the feature will appear through AI Mode in Search, Gemini integrations in Chrome, and the standalone Gemini app — bringing context-aware, personalized suggestions to a much larger audience.
Personal Intelligence taps data from connected Google apps like Gmail, Google Photos, and YouTube to provide more relevant answers and proactive recommendations. That means Gemini can factor in your saved photos, calendar context, messages, and viewing history to suggest tailored ideas — from trip plans and celebration reminders to personalized email drafts and media recommendations.
User control and scope: Google is rolling this out only for personal accounts for now, excluding business, enterprise, and education domains. The company also emphasizes controls: users choose which apps to connect and can manage or revoke permissions if they prefer not to have certain data used for personalization. These controls help balance usefulness with privacy and transparency.
The move is a notable step toward democratizing personalized AI across everyday Google services. By widening access, Google is helping more people benefit from context-rich assistance that can save time, spark creativity, and improve search relevancy — with the expectation that similar expansions or refinements may follow as Google gathers feedback from a broader user base.
