Solos is pushing AI wearables in a lighter and more privacy-conscious direction with the debut of its new AirGo A6 smart glasses. Unlike many camera-equipped smart glasses, the AirGo A6 skips cameras entirely and focuses on voice interactions with an AI assistant.
The biggest upgrade is comfort: the AirGo A6 weigh around 19 grams, a major drop from last year’s AirGo A5, which weighed roughly 36 to 40 grams depending on the frame. Solos achieved the reduction partly through thinner temple arms that still house the speakers, batteries, and electronics needed for smart features.
Why this matters
Camera-less AI glasses could help make smart eyewear more socially acceptable by reducing privacy concerns while still offering hands-free digital help. For users who want AI assistance without bulky hardware or always-on cameras, this kind of design is a meaningful step forward.
- More wearable: At about 19 grams, the glasses are closer to the feel of traditional eyewear.
- More private: No built-in cameras means fewer concerns for people nearby.
- More practical: Voice-based AI assistance supports everyday tasks without needing to pull out a phone.
Pricing and availability have not yet been finalized, but Solos says the AirGo A6 will support full prescription lens compatibility. That combination of comfort, utility, and privacy makes the launch a positive sign for the next wave of everyday AI devices.
